VAL-6 Heaters

Super efficient, portable, clean heat – VAL6 delivers all that and more. Indoors, outdoors, warming people, equipment, and materials, the VAL6 outperforms “torpedo” and “salamander” type heaters with almost three times the VAL6 BTU output. The key is Infrared Heat and innovative design. Our knowledgeable team can help you select which model will work best for you and we generally ship the same day you order (orders before 2PM MT). Choose among our four most popular models.

  • Field Repair
  • Job Site
  • Cold Spot in Warehouse or Plant
  • Keep Employees Warm
  • Keep Material from Freezing
  • Keep Engines and Equipment Warm

  • Economical – less than half the fuel of a torpedo heater for the same feeling of warmth
  • Heats Objects Like the Sun Heats the Earth
    • Not affected by drafts
    • Not affected by mist
    • Radiant heat does not tend to rise like heated air
    • No energy wasted blowing heated air
  • Heat a Wider Area
  • Almost 100% Energy to Heat Conversion – No Smoke or Odor
  • Durable – Long Life Reduces Replacement Cost
  • Simple to Operate and Maintain

Understanding the Differences Between Models

EPX

Designed for maximum output and endurance, the EPX is the heavy-duty flagship of the VAL‑6 family. With up to 140,000 BTU/h, a 15.4 gallon fuel tank, and up to 15 hours of continuous runtime on “High,” this model is built for large spaces and long shifts.

  • Best for: Big industrial bays, large open structures, tented work sites, or any place where you need broad coverage with minimal interruption.
  • Why it matters: It gives you the highest heat output and longest runtime, reducing downtime for refueling. Great when you must heat large volumes or sustain continuous work in cold weather.

KBE5L

The KBE5L is a balanced, high-capacity option. It delivers up to 118,000 BTU/h, with a full 15 hours of runtime, and comes in a size that’s easier to maneuver onsite.

  • Best for: Medium-to-large spaces, indoor workshops, or semi-open sites where you want serious heating power without going to the EPX scale.
  • Why it matters: It offers nearly as much heat as the EPX, but in a slightly more portable frame—ideal when you need high output but also flexibility.

KBE5S

For those who want solid infrared heating in a more compact footprint, the KBE5S is a great choice. With a max of 111,000 BTU/h and a tank that supports 9 hours of continuous runtime, it’s a strong performer in a smaller size.

  • Best for: Smaller workspaces, localized heating, or jobs where the extra bulk of larger units becomes a limitation.
  • Why it matters: You lose very little in heat output but gain in ease of handling, placement flexibility, and lighter weight.

Daystar

The Daystar is the portable workhorse—perfect for smaller jobs or tight spaces. It delivers 53,100 BTU/h, runs for up to 6 hours at full load, and is compact, lightweight, and easy to deploy.

  • Best for: Jobsite warming stations, temporary shelters, small shop areas, or spot heating in cold corners.
  • Why it matters: When you don’t need full-scale heating, Daystar provides efficient warmth without overkill. Its compact size makes transport, staging, and setup easy.
